Gareth Hipwell

Gareth graduated from Macquarie University with a Double Degree in Arts (Politics) and Law, including First Class Honours in Law. His independent research thesis, completed at the conclusion of his legal studies, was marked by the then Dean of Macquarie Law School and earned a High Distinction grading.
A recipient of the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Law, Gareth was the winner of Macquarie University’s Holding Redlich Prize for Excellence in the subject of Litigation, and was joint winner of the Lionel Murphy Memorial Prize for Excellence in Labour Law.
Having worked in the General Claims section of prominent insurer Lumley General, Gareth has experience in commercial and general legal practice. His areas of professional interest have included property law, building and construction, insolvency and personal injury.
Gareth brings a sharp eye for detail to bear on his work as one of Dodkin McBride’s dedicated in-house proofreaders and editors, along with an intimate understanding of the rules of evidence and the purposes and functions of a wide variety of legal and evidentiary documents.
